I have just returned from attending the Oregon Christian Writers conference in Portland, Oregon and believe me, it was a new world! I didn’t know many people, I
didn’t know the “author lingo”, had no idea who the speakers and presenters were or what the Lord had in store for me.
From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel, I was welcomed by a familiar face and guided to where we would display our books. More friendly faces and people ready to help this “newbie”. “Thank You, God!”
From the first introductions to the weary goodbyes four days later, I had been indoctrinated into the new world of writing, publishers, agents, editors and authors. The message was clear from our keynote speaker, Allen Arnold, that we are “writing WITH God”, not for Him. Writing is a calling and takes passion, gifting, and a clear desire to serve Him with every word we write or story we spin. If fame and fortune is our goal and desire, we are in the wrong profession. Plain and simple.
Robyn B Ministries will now go to the next level with those publishers, agents and editors, but led by the Holy Spirit with every step. Here we gooooo, in the name of Jesus! I really like this “new world.”
