If you lived in the “dark ages” like I did, you will remember the wholesome show, “Father Knows Best”, aired 1954-1963, starring Robert Young and Jane Wyatt. This middle class family lived in the suburbs with a perfect lawn and had a beautiful home which was always spic and span. The father went to work in a suit,, the mother wore a dress and pearls everyday as a housewife and the children were always (well, almost always) dressed perfectly. The father and mother never raised their voices at each other and called each other “Dear”. Whenever the children had a little dilemma, they could go to their mother or wait until the father came home to dinner and then talk about it at the dinner table. Dinner as a family at a dinner table?! Wow! That doesn’t happen very often these days, does it? Is this what your childhood was like or was your childhood filled with chaos and trauma? Did you have a father whom you could trust to care for you, provide for you and make you feel loved and valued? Some of us did and some of did not. No matter what your experience was, there was always a Father available to call upon, if we had noticed Him. His Word is full of wisdom, love, acceptance and forgiveness. He has always kept his promises that are written in the Bible. He didn’t cause the hurtful experiences you may have lived, but He was always there to help you out of them and comfort you with His Spirit, if you had asked Him. This Father knows best. “The Lord is the shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in time of trouble. Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, O Lord, have never abandoned anyone who searches for You.” Psalm 9:9-10 Let this Father wrap His arms around you, comfort you, guide you and love you. He made you and He really does want what is best for you. #chainednomore #hope #godslove www.robynbministries.com
