We have noticed lately that the leaves are beginning to change, the mornings are cooler and football season has taken the airwaves once more. We begin to wear darker colors, longer pants and shoes that cover more. Our drinks begin to be warmer and school buses begin to fill the streets. Autumn is here. This is my favorite time of year!
Our lives have changes of season as well. We graduate from high school or college and we hopefully venture out to make our mark on the world. We get married one day and it is another season in our life of adulthood. One day, we may have kids and boy, is that a change of season in our life! It will never be the same. Another season is when the kids move out and we watch our kids go through the same change of seasons of life…..and time goes on……
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seem the burden God has laid on me. He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-11
What season are you in right now? Are you so busy looking back that you can’t flourish in the season you are presently in? Do you long for the “good old days” or are you rejoicing in what God may have ahead. One of my life mottos is “Live life to the fullest and take people with you.” Make this season of your life the best you can and trust Him to lead you to the next. Happy Autumn!!
